'The Covid-19 pandemic was a blessing in disguise for me,' says James Blunt. Posted on 15 Jun, 2021
The Covid-19 crisis, according to James Blunt, was a "gift in disguise" since it caused him to spend some much-needed time away from music.
When the global health crisis disrupted events and festivals around the world, the artist was set to embark on a tour. While James is eager to get back on the road, he has taken advantage of the opportunity to spend time with his family, which includes his wife Sofia Wellesley, and their two sons.
"I was scheduled to be on the tour for a year, but I was kicked off." And, you know, that was probably a wonderful thing for me because I haven't spent time with my family in a long time," he told the Henley Standard newspaper. "I promised myself that I would take a year off from music at some point, but I was probably lying.
